The story behind the channel
Old games. New finds. Real talk.
Everything Old Is Newb Again is a retro gaming channel built on one simple idea: great games deserve a second life — and great collectors deserve a seller they can trust.
How it started
It started the way most great obsessions do — a dusty box at a garage sale, a cartridge that still worked, and a rush of nostalgia that never really went away. What began as a personal collection quickly turned into something bigger: a mission to rescue the hardware and games that defined generations of players.
We believe retro games, consoles, and accessories deserve to be preserved — not left to rot in a landfill or sit forgotten in a closet. That's the heart of #savethesystems. Everything Old Is Newb Again launched on Whatnot to bring that mission to life in real time: sourcing, restoring, and rehoming pieces that still have plenty of game left in them.
Our streams aren't just about the sale. We talk gaming history, share facts, dig into what makes each system or title special, and describe every single item in detail — showing it from every angle during the auction. If you've ever wanted to geek out about why a certain cartridge matters or what made a console generation iconic, you're in the right place.
More than an auction
Every stream is part sale, part history lesson, part community hangout. We walk through the story behind each item — the era it came from, what made it special, why it's worth owning. Buyers know exactly what they're getting because we show every detail, describe every flaw, and answer every question live. No surprises. No guesswork. Just real talk about real games.
Our process
Sanitized & cleaned
Every item is fully sanitized and cleaned before it ever hits the stream. You're getting something that looks and feels cared for — because it is.
Fully tested
We power on and test every single item to make sure it works fully and correctly. If it doesn't pass, it doesn't sell — simple as that.
Repaired when needed
When an item needs work, we do the work. For straightforward fixes — pin cleaning, belt swaps, basic board work — we handle it ourselves. For the more involved stuff like soldering, capacitor replacement, and other precision repairs, we collaborate with skilled technicians who specialize in exactly that. Either way, it gets done right.
#savethesystems
Retro hardware is finite. We're committed to keeping as much of it alive and in the hands of people who love it as possible. Every sale is a rescue.
Box & manual pressing
We use a professional heat press to carefully flatten cardboard game boxes and manuals, helping restore as crisp a feel and look as possible. It cannot remove white stress marks from creases or repair crush damage where ink has been damaged, but it can greatly improve the presentation of eligible pieces.
